AT KANGAROO POINT UNITING CHURCH
KPUC will continue to grow as a centre of vibrant worship, an authentic and welcoming community, and a launching pad for local and overseas mission.
Our mission is to be “actively changing your world through knowing Jesus, growing in
Christ and sowing his love.”
We believe that God reigns sovereignly over all creation and that through Jesus Christ we can have an intimate relationship with God, and through the empowering, creative and orchestrating work of the Holy Spirit we work to see God’s kingdom here in his world.
Because we are a city church our heart is for those who are on the edges or lost in this city of Brisbane who need to experience God’s love.
We are from diverse cultures and we want to reach out to as many nations in mission to see people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
We are not perfect in any way but we are a people redeemed and reconciled by Christ to be agents of God’s reconciliation, righteousness and justice in our broken world especially here in Brisbane.
As a church, we aim to respond to the call of Jesus to "go to all the world and make disciples..." Launching mission both locally and globally is an integral movement and call to action in the life of the church in order to live out the vision and mission God has placed upon us.
To be saved is to surrender to God and His plan and calling for our lives. It is leaving our past lives and turning to Jesus, receiving from Him forgiveness of our sins and new life in Him.
Romans 10:9 says that “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
OPEN HEAVEN + OPEN HEART
This retreat is about prayerfully expecting and passionately calling upon God to open heaven and grace us with his presence, favour, anointing and fire for making disciples. It is also a call to gather in complete surrender of our heart to God's will and Word to us (Isaiah 64:1 & Joel 2:13). The retreat will consist of workshops, worship and fellowship. It will occur on the 9th and 10th of October at St Teresa Retreat Centre. If you would like more information, please get in touch with us.
Our Main Worship Service commenced on the 19th of July as restrictions and guidelines by the government eased, and we have continued to hold in person worship services. At the moment we are only able to hold 75 people within our building, but you are welcome to join us via Facebook as all our services are streamed online. As stated above we are practicing the guidelines given by the government (social distancing, hand sanitising stations, facility cleaning) to ensure for a safe place to gather. For any enquiries about this process, please do not hesitate to email us.
